Event wrap-up! Life After Dynamics GP: Migrating to the Cloud with Nolan!

We recently held our Customer Day at The Oval in London and we are pleased to share that it was a true success. The feedback from those in attendance was overwhelmingly positive with an abundance of interest in migrating from on-premise ERP to the cloud.

A massive thank you to all those who made it along and helped make it a memorable event! In this blog, you'll find our event summary and a short wrap-up video that shows how the day looked!

Summary of the event

Throughout the day, our Nolan speakers covered important considerations when moving from on-premise ERP to the cloud, such as what options are available, what the benefits are, what a successful migration looks like, and what is the difference in cost.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central vs Oracle NetSuite

Before lunch we had our Twenty20 cricket-themed showdown between our two cloud offerings: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central vs Oracle NetSuite. Our BDM Adele bowled tricky questions to our consultants Steve and Neil as they went head to head, covering where the solutions were equal, before demoing their particular strengths and differences.

The audience played their part by raising a 4 or a 6 for the system that impressed them the most, with a number of customers switching camps from what they had in mind upon arrival! Irrespective of the result, there was a consensus in the room that this session "really gave them something to think about".

Hearing from Softcat who have already migrated to the cloud

The best-received session of the afternoon was 'Hear from a Nolan customer who has already moved to the cloud' in which we had the privilege of hearing from ERP Technical Product Owner Adhnan Nazir from Softcat, the UK's largest IT Reseller.

Interviewed by Adam, our Marketing Manager, Adhnan talked through Softcat's implementation of NetSuite, from the challenges they were facing that led them to seek a cloud-based ERP solution, to the results of the project and why the partnership with Nolan was key to it being a success.

Conclusion

In the end, there was an overriding feeling of comfort that both systems were more than capable of taking the reigns from the much-loved Microsoft Dynamics GP, and the decision was not if to move to the cloud, but when. Certainly, the catchphrase of the day was how "eye-opening" it was to see the systems in action with many commenting on how "dated" Microsoft Dynamics GP now looks in comparison.
